When Ruth and Skitch Henderson settled in their rural Connecticut country retreat in 1968, they likely had no idea that one day it would become a world-famous hub for culture, arts, education, history and preservation, accredited by the United Nations and while celebrating their amazing life and legacy.

We are on a mission to foster an inclusive and inviting haven of imagination and exploration where individuals from all backgrounds across the globe, especially the youth can use arts, technology and solidarity as tools for healing and personal growth.

Hunt Hill Farm is known as the birthplace of the New York Pops Orchestra, home of The Silo Cooking School, The Silo Gallery, Junie's Cottage and The Skitch Henderson Museum of American Music History and Americana.

At Hunt Hill Farm, we strive to provide a unique and enriching experience for all our visitors. We are committed to supporting the achievement of the UN 17 SDGs with each action we take.

Ruth Henderson had a passion for music education that inspired the creation of created Kids in the Balcony in 1991. We are thrilled to celebrate the legacy of Ruth and Skitch Henderson by bringing 50 kids from our communities to Carnegie Hall every year, thanks to Anne Swanson CEO of the NYPOPs. Since 2022, this opportunity has been available to our communities free of charge. It is a great way to continue Ruth’s passion for music education and to make sure that the joy of the orchestra is shared with generations to come. We are proud to be able to offer this experience at no cost, bringing music and culture into our communities. This program is a wonderful example of how we can celebrate music together, even during difficult times.

Thanks to Health Care Advocates International's belief in our mission and unwavering support since 2021 we are able to offer lots of regional and local non-profits complimentary admission into our premises in exchange for food items that are donated to Camella’s Cupboard Foundation, a charity committed towards nourishing hungry children.

Our amazing partner organizations, such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, VCA, Robotics & Beyond, Literacy Volunteers, New Milford Pride, Education Without Walls, and Smiles I Can’t See are just the tip of the iceberg - with your help we can further our mission to continue providing invaluable support to even more inspiring initiatives.
