YOU’RE INVITED TO A HISTORIC CELEBRATION
The Silo at Hunt Hill Farm along with Mayor Pete Bass invite you to celebrate the official proclamation of the New Milford ‘Ruth and Skitch Henderson Day’ on Sunday, Oct. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The event will begin inside the Silo Gallery on 44 Upland Road with an art exhibit by The Silo’s first artist in residency Guilherme Lepca from Brazil and the unveiling of the new logo for the Skitch Henderson Cultural Center of Excellence. The evening will conclude at Ruth & Skitch’s 1836 Red Barn, with performances by legendary Jazz player Chris Brubeck and Broadway star Karen Mason.
Cocktails will be served and hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Greca Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar.
The event is the unofficial start to a year-long celebration of Ruth & Skitch’s vast legacy of music, cooking, art and land preservation that will culminate next fall with the 50th anniversary of The Silo. Ruth & Skitch purchased the property in 1968 and created a world-renowned mecca for musicians and artists of all ages along with its well-known Silo cooking school in 1972 and we are totally committed to preserve their legacy by rescuing their beloved “Oasis” and perpetuating it according to their original vision for youth empowerment through the arts, music, food and love for the land.
