YOU’RE INVITED TO A REMARKABLE CELEBRATION
In preparation for the celebration of “Fifty Years of the Silo”, Hunt Hill Farm invites you to a remarkable event commemorating the activities, the arts, the glamour, and the delicacies that were prepared at the historic Silo Cooking School for decades.
The event will begin at the Silo Gallery on 44 Upland Road with the extraordinary art exhibit “Fractions of a part” by the Silo’s first artist in residency, Guilherme Lepca, who is from Brazil. Lepca will be presenting 30 amazing creations and will unveil the 48” x 60” portrait of Ruth & Skitch Henderson created specially for this event. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be masterfully prepared and presented by The Silo Cooking School director Nancy Stuart. For our delight, she has chosen some of Skitch’s favorites taken out of Ruth’s own cookbooks. Singer/songwriter Sophia Lilly will be playing the Steinway and astounding us with Her soulful and beautiful voice.
The festivities will continue for the 50 specially invited guests of Daniele and Alessandro Piovezahn at Ruth & Skitch’s official residence at the 1836 Red Barn for more extraordinary music performances by our special guest artists. Singer Martina Fišerová, has appeared as guest singer at the Jazz Conservatory of Prague and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. will be accompanied by Matthew Weber, who is the lead associate bass player with the Karlovy Vary Symphonic Orchestra and member of the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Czech Republic. Piano extraordinaries Lou Katz and Joseph Diblasi will be playing Skicth’s venerable “Old 199” the world’s most sought after Steinway piano ever built, for our amusement.
This event is the unofficial start to a year-long celebration of Ruth & Skitch’s vast legacy of music, cooking, art, conservation and land preservation that will culminate next fall with the 50th anniversary of The Silo. Ruth & Skitch purchased the property in 1968 and created a world-renowned mecca for musicians and artists of all ages along with its well-known Silo cooking school, founded in 1972. We are totally committed to preserve their legacy by rescuing their beloved “Oasis” and perpetuating its mission according to their original vision for youth empowerment through the arts, music, food and love for the land.
“As long as we remember them, a piece of them will always be with us.”
We are looking forward to seeing you on the 23rd.
Have a wonderful day and Positive Vibrations Always!
Daniele & Alessandro Piovezahn
