Diversity Month Celebration 2023

August 20, 2024 @ 3:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Us In Celebrating Diversity Month As We Joyfully Welcome Spring!

Hunt Hill Farm, an NGO in consultative status with the UN-ECOSOC is proud to collaborate with Health Care Advocates International in our shared commitment of nurturing an atmosphere of acceptance, diversity and solidarity. We joyfully welcome you and the glorious season of spring with open arms!

Celebrating diversity month is an important way to recognize the value and beauty of diversity around the world. As former UN Secretary-General Koffi Annan stated, “We are all different. Yet we share the same human spirit. Our diversity is a delight, it is not a danger.” Celebrating diversity allows us to recognize and appreciate the unique qualities that make each person special, while also working together to build bridges among different cultures and societies. By celebrating diversity, we can create an inclusive world that respects, values and celebrates the differences among us. We are all united by our common humanity, and advocating for diversity is an important step towards achieving a more peaceful and equitable world. Let us celebrate Diversity Month with joy and optimism, knowing that together we can create a world of greater understanding, justice, and peace.

We have a wonderful afternoon planned with live music, amazing performances, delicious food and exciting guest speakers; Dr. Gary Blick from HCAI; Dr. Hanifa Mezoui, & Mr. Angus Rennie from the United Nations, and Carmen Hughes Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the City of Stamford. This celebration is part of our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for peace and prosperity for all people everywhere.

Come join us for an extraordinary afternoon starting at the Silo Gallery! New Milford Mayor Pete Bass will be present to welcome our guests to our wonderful town, local musician Americo Carrasco will be gracing us with his captivating piano playing and our guest chef, Richard Smith, will prepare delicious hors d’oeuvres in The Silo Cooking School for our delight. To complete this remarkable experience, TRANScend & Scott Smith are going to perform live in Ruth and Skitch Henderson’s 1836 Barn – Great room! We’re sure to make this an unforgettable experience!

Let’s come together as one community – united by diversity – to create an environment of understanding and acceptance. We believe that diversity should be celebrated and embraced – now more than ever before!

Join us on this special night and let us share in the diversity of our beautiful world.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Have a fantabulous day and positive vibrations always!!!

President

The event begins at The Silo Gallery from 2 p. m. to 3 p. m., continuing until 5:30 p. m. at The Great Room of the 1836 Barn.

We would be overwhelmingly grateful if you could bring at least 1 lb of non-perishable food that will be donated to Camella’s Cupboard Foundation, in an effort to help fight hunger in our community and work towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #2 – Zero Hunger.
